Following a public meeting of some 140 concerned local
people in March 2004, a steering group formed to explore the application
of the powers of community right to buy in the new Land Reform
(Scotland) Act 2003 in helping achieve their aspirations for Kinghorn
Loch and its surrounds.
Arising from this, Kinghorn Community
Land Association 2005 formed in March 2005 . The Association's first
registration , the east shore of the Loch, gained the support of over
600 petitioners, some 20% of the local community.
The Association is recognised as a
Community Body under the 2003 Act. We have an active board of
experienced, enthusiastic and committed local people and a membership of
more than 100 plus supportive and sympathetic associates from the
surrounding area.
